Bush Bloggin'

Some of my thoughts regarding our indigenous and revered East Cape Valley Bushveldt biome amongst others and how we are protecting it and its wildlife by means of tourism and sport hunting on Blaauwkrantz

"Growing up on Blaauwkrantz Farm in the 70's and 80's I witnessed first hand the transformation of wildlife on private property. In my youth seeing a kudu or bushbuck would be the highlight of the month for me.In the last twenty years wildlife has increased astronomically on Blaauwkrantz because of the principles of incentivised conservation and sustainable utilisation.Wildlife that has value has a place on private land.Trophy hunting in particular allowed us to viably conserve our wildlife.I fervently try to convey this message and even animals such as the secretive bushpig has proved to be a specie that has value thus conserving itself and other species that it shares our property with."

How wildlife with value has flourished on private land

Many species that used to be scorned on private land are now proving to be a valuable sport hunting species.Bushpigs are one of them, their conservation is thus warranted.
